Short personal bio...
I have been fortunate to meet some great people and musicians through out my drumming career and hope to continue teaching, learning and creating for a long time to come....
I was brought into the percussive world through a different medium to
most.. Drum Corps.. Over a ten-year span I progressed from beginner, to
competing in the International World Championships in the USA. Within
this time I was being taught by and performing with many of the worlds
most talented rudimental drummers. In 1998 I was again asked to travel
to the USA but this time to take a position teaching and touring with
the worlds finest drum corps.. Off the back of this success came Endorsements,
Rudimental clinics, Seminars and work for Drum Corps United Kingdom and
British Youth Band Association across the UK and Europe.
Alongside my rudimental career I was learning and perfecting my drum kit
skill, I was teaching with and learning from some of the UK's finest educators.
Drum Corps had taught me reading, timing, phrasing, dynamics, rudiments,
technique and many other invaluable skills that hugely improved my kit
drumming. Because of this head start I soon began mastering kit skills
and before I knew it I was performing across the UK in bands and ensembles.
Next came a career change to professional Drum Kit player/teacher rather
than Drum Corps. I have not looked back since and have taught many drummers
and performed, recorded and organised many successful projects.
I now fully focus my skills to drum kit, performing and teaching, with
only occasional work with drum corps and rudimental ensembles..
